Doses above 40 mg are not recommended due to the risk of QT prolongation (a heart-rhythm change).
Rarely, combining serotonergic medications can cause serotonin syndrome (agitation, fast heart rate, fever, tremor). Tell your clinician about every medication and supplement you take.
Do not stop suddenly — your clinician will taper the dose to avoid discontinuation symptoms such as dizziness, flu-like feelings, or 'brain zaps.'
